On Saturday hubby and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. When I say ‘celebrated’ I mean ‘watched the West Coast Eagles (who are not my team) play Carlton on TV’. All I can say is, thank god the stupid Eagles won.
Anyway – every year we forget our wedding anniversary. Our most memorable effort was the year Jaden was born. Mum rang me in the morning and said “Happy Anniversary” … and I was like … “oh god, I totally forgot. Oh wait, Ant forgot too. Phew.” Then I got to be the first one to ‘remember’ and sent him a happy anniversary text.
Then this year, I remembered three days out, but by the time Saturday rolled around, had completely forgotten again. It was only thanks to Nat from Mummy Smiles, whose daughter shares a birthday with our anniversary, that I ‘remembered’ and once again got to be the first person to say “Happy Anniversary honey”!
Anyhoo … that is one loooooooong segue into today’s Pinterest theme. I looked up on google to see what gift you traditionally give on a 6th wedding anniversary and google told me “Iron plus candy”. WTF?
Needless to say … I went with candy.
