What is letterpress?
Google says:
Relief printing: printing from a plate with raised characters
The printing process in which ink is applied to the top surface of a raised image area, which is then pressed against paper to transfer the image;
Original printing method used woodblocks or type: based on relief printing, or raised image area, the image was inked by a roller and transferred directly to the paper by pressure Master Plate for a duplicating machine
My definition is that is it a printing artform that produces a truly beautiful and unique result. I love letterpress stationery. It has the most beautiful feel and texture and every piece feels like it has its own individual character.
Yesterday I went looking for some letterpress notebooks and did some searching on Etsy for myself (and you all) … check it out!
